What is Loveland Presbyterian Church Like?
Loveland Presbyterian Church is a loving, praying and caring congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA). We are warm and friendly, and we will gladly welcome you and your loved ones to our church and help you find a place to put your faith into action.
Worship is the center of our lives. We worship God in a traditional style. Our excellent choir inspires us with classical music and leads us as we sing meaningful hymns. Our pastor engages us with liturgical prayers and challenges us in Biblically-based sermons. Every month, our faith is nourished and strengthened as we receive the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. Children are always welcome and actively participate in our service of worship as acolytes and in a children’s message crafted just for them.
What Does Loveland Presbyterian Church Do?
We believe that human beings have no higher goal than to glorify and enjoy God, forever. Therefore, we glorify and enjoy God by being God’s representatives in our community, actively engaging in ministries of compassion and love.
We host a variety of charitable events throughout the year and regularly provide clothing and food to the needy through donations to local organizations like NEST and the LIFE food pantry. Various groups come into our doors each week, including the Boy Scouts of America and Alcoholics Anonymous. Head Start and Tender Years preschools are housed in our building, too. Showing the hospitality of Christ to all, we go to local events and share the good news with those we encounter.
We gladly welcome people of all ages to come and participate in God’s mission with us. There are many opportunities for you and your loved ones to enrich your faith and grow in your discipleship, while making a positive difference in the world.
You can simply join us in our 10:30am service of worship or show up a little earlier and participate in our Bible study group at 9:15am. You can even enroll your children in our children’s Sunday School program. There are a variety of committees and groups which you can also join, making friends and finding a place where your faith can come alive and you can spring into action.
Loveland Presbyterian Church was founded on May 4, 1854, by Matthew Furguson. We first met in a one-room schoolhouse, then held services on an upper floor of the old DeGolyer Building in Loveland. This continued until 1859 when we built a church on Third Street. We outgrew this church in the late 1950’s and plans were made to build a new church on Robin Avenue. The present LPC Church was completed and the first service was held on February 11, 1962.
